Therefore, I'm bypassing adding The Carter III to my iPod....Just as everyone, I (silently) anticipated the release (or the leak) of this lp. You know, the hype, him being the self proclaimed "best rapper alive", yadda yadda yadda, had me wondering, no, KNOWING that Wayne wouldn't let the world down with this one.
That he was def. going to deliver material, that would have all the naysayers in awe, and back pedaling their words against him.
To no avail, he failed. It may seem crazy because the album isn't "trash", yet its one of those things that's like, before consumption/witnessing, has you uncontrollably anxious to get your hands on. Then upon hearing it in its entirety, you re left with the feeling that you've either been bamboozledand left asking where the rest of it is, or saying, this is what I've been waiting for, or either this is what Ive been arguing that Wayne is the heir to the throne, kind of like when you go back and forth with your homeboy about something, and in conclusion you're wrong, and left with that silly ass look on your face...so as the album fades that faces takes its place on your face.
I must admit though, the albums production did not fall short, at all, so for that he/they, receive an A.
Consider me a hater if you must, but the proof is in the pudding *cough* the PROOF is in The Carter III, I guarantee after listening to it once, then a second time to make sure you didn't miss anything, you'll be back to listening to whatever helped you get through the Pre Carter III days.
